About me
My work is rooted in the belief that true progress comes from understanding how the body moves, how a horse learns, and how clear communication creates harmony. By combining classical riding principles with modern insights into biomechanics, posture and movement, I help riders and instructors build a sustainable partnership with their horses.
Not by forcing, but by listening  to the horse and to the rider’s body.
My story as an equestrian instructor
My journey as an equestrian instructor began more than 25 years ago and has grown into a lifelong dedication to teaching, learning and refining the art of riding.
I am a certified Equestrian Instructor, trained at Deurne (The Netherlands), and hold the KNHS ORUN Level 4 – All-round Competition Instructor qualification, along with an International Instructor Passport. Alongside my equestrian education, I am also trained in fitness, which gives me a deep understanding of strength, stability, posture and functional movement.
This unique combination allows me to look beyond what is visible on the surface. I analyse how a rider moves, where tension or imbalance originates, and how this directly influences the horse. By connecting riding technique with body awareness, I help riders develop a more independent, balanced and effective seat.
Training philosophy
Although I train all types of horses under saddle, Friesian horses hold a very special place in my heart.
I find the greatest fulfilment in working with young horses. Every horse is unique:
some thrive in structured arena training, while others develop more confidently when ridden outdoors, in the forest or on open land. Certain horses benefit greatly from groundwork or lunging as part of their education.
The process of discovering how a horse learns best — mentally and physically — is what drives me. This careful, individual approach ensures that each horse is given the time, clarity and support it needs to develop strength, confidence and trust.
Rider biomechanics & position
My background in fitness plays an essential role in my work with riders. Understanding biomechanics, core stability and movement patterns allows me to address the root causes of riding challenges rather than just the symptoms.
Improving rider posture and balance not only enhances performance, but also increases comfort, clarity and long-term soundness for the horse. This philosophy forms the foundation of all my lessons and courses.
